(1) Chittenango Falls State Park
Chittenango Falls is a places I visited many times when I was in Syracuse since it is in the route of my fishing destination. My recollection is the the falls is small and short. My revisiting after nearly 20 years was really a surprise for its magnificence. It is 167 feet high, and has two sections. The public facility is above the falls. There is a trail leads to the foot of the falls.
(2) Clark Reservation State Park
One of the places I visited frequently in the past. The shape of the lake is like a big bowl, quite different from other lakes in the region.
(3) Taughannock Falls State Park
Taughannock Falls, 165 feet high, is the tallest falls in the eastern USA. It is less than 20 miles from the college town Itheca, on the west bank of Cayuga Lake. Visitors can overlook the falls from a look out, and also watch the falls from the foot from a trail along the river.
