Eastern Screech Owl
Eastern Screech-Owls live in wide area east of Rocky mountains. Its size is comparable to doves. Their calls in the night are in high pitch. They are great at camouflage, generally choose to make a nest in the tree hole. Eastern Screech-Owls have gray and red two morphs. They are largely nocturnal, means either hide in the hole or sleep during day time. The majority of the screech-owl photos with red morph here were taken from a nest site on the street aide in the residential area of a coastal town; while the one with gray morph was from a cemetery. The following photos were taken at different times.
