My first sight of a owl was in Yellowstone national park in 2011。I am fortunate having photoed many owls after I started photoing wildlife. Following photos show case the owls I have shot so far. I have dedicated articles show case each in detail. I hope that the list will be increased in the future. So, please stay tuned.
Great Gray Owl
Great Gray Owls live in the northern America, suc as Canada. They are one of the largest owls in the world. They only migrate to the northern US during winter. They are inactive during day time, and only hunt in early morning or late afternoon.
#2 Snowy Owl
Snowy Owls are white owls. They are the heavist and one of the largest owls. Their habitat in the arctic tundra and occasionally visit northern US area during the winter. They can hunt 24 hours so chance of seeing them hunting in day time is great.
#3 Barred Owl
Barred owls are common in North America. They are also large owl. They habitat in natural forrests. Their major diets are rodents. They can also hunt in day time, but mostly active during early morning or late afternnon.
#4 Great Horned Owl
Great Horned Owls are among the largest owls. Their diet can be any living thing.
#5 Long Eared Owl
Long Eared Owls are similar to Great Horned Owls, but slightly smaller and slender, with long ear tufts. They are nocturnal.
#6 Short Eared Owl
Short Eared Owls are mid-sized owls. Their ears are normally invisible. They nest in ground and hunt in early morning or dusk. They behave like northern harriers when hunt.
#7 Eastern Screech Owl
Eastern Screech Owls are small and nocturnal. They only hunt after the dark.
#8 Burrowing Owl
Burrowing Owls nest on burrows, like open environment.
