Great Smoky Mountains National Park
Straddling the ridgeline of the Great Smoky Mountains, located in densely populated southeastern region of the US,
Great Smoky Mountains National Park is one of the most visisted national parks. The park is fairly large, and strides the borders of two states,
Tennessee in the north and North Carolina in the South. It is a very good desitination for families during summer,
with a lot of resorts, and living music, in the towns of Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge on the foot of the northern slope.
Scenery is great if not spectacular, green mountains and clouds surrounding the top of mountains. US highway 441 is the major road in the park that let visitors traverse the park,
enjoy the scenery along the way, pass through the mountain ridge, and reach to Clingmans Dome observation tower for a 360 degree panoram view.
Cades Cove on the west side of the northern slope is the site for learning the local hitory, watching wildlife and having fun of horse riding.
